Transformation
We’re absolutely delighted to share that CMC has won the Digital & AI Transformation category at the Change Awards 2026.
This award recognises our work supporting a fast-paced organisation-wide digital and AI transformation programme. Working alongside our client, Sustainable Energy First, we helped shape and deliver a programme that balanced pace and ambition with a strong focus on people.
Supporting complex, high-impact transformation
We supported Sustainable Energy First to modernise technology, integrate systems following a merger, and adopt AI in a way that is both practical and people-centred. The programme spanned multiple technologies and business areas, requiring careful coordination and a clear focus on adoption as well as delivery.
A key part of our work was establishing an Innovation Hub, providing a central mechanism for identifying and triaging innovation opportunities, alongside an Innovation Council to support governance and decision-making. This created a structured and visible way for ideas to be explored, prioritised and delivered across the organisation.
We also played a central role in delivering a targeted Microsoft Copilot rollout, working with teams across the organisation to understand their challenges, address concerns over the use of AI, and identify where AI could genuinely support day-to-day work and improve outcomes. This included piloting, gathering feedback, and adapting the approach to focus on high-impact use cases.
A focus on sustainable change
Across the programme, our focus was on building capability as well as delivering immediate outcomes — ensuring that the organisation was equipped to continue evolving beyond the life of the transformation. This included creating a network of Digital Champions. We focused on ensuring that change was not only delivered, but embedded — supporting people to understand, adopt and feel confident in new ways of working.
Combining innovation with empathy
For us, this award represents what meaningful change looks like in practice: combining innovation with empathy, and ensuring that people are supported every step of the way.
Recognising individual excellence
We’re also incredibly proud of Sinead McCarthy‑Wilson for being recognised as a finalist in the Future Inspiration category — a fantastic and well-deserved achievement that reflects her contribution to delivering people-centred change.
We’d like to thank the Change Awards team for this recognition, and extend our congratulations to all the other winners and finalists.
