We are dedicated to making a positive impact. With passion and focus, we have set seven key commitments to make a difference and create a better world.

Wellbeing

Wellbeing is a top priority for us. We know that if our team members feel supported, valued, and empowered, they are much more likely to thrive, both personally and professionally. We are genuinely committed to supporting our people to be happy and healthy, and creating safe spaces to open-up. We were honoured to win the Workplace Wellbeing Award at the Mental Health and Wellbeing Wales Awards 2022, and to also achieve a silver award in the Mind Workplace Wellbeing Index 2023. A testament to our fantastic Wellbeing team, our Mental Health First Aiders and the mindful initiatives we have in place!

ED&I

We are deeply committed to embracing and celebrating difference, valuing diversity, and promoting inclusion. Every person brings their whole self to work at CMC, with their unique perspectives, experiences, and talents brought the table. It is through appreciating these differences that we thrive as a team.

Environment

We are a net zero company. Our carbon reduction programme focuses on sustainable practices and supporting flexible working, cutting down on travel and other business related emissions. Any carbon emissions that we do produce are 100% offset with an annual donation to the Woodland Trust, protecting, restoring, and creating UK Woodland. Our latest donation saw trees planted in the Low Weald and Downs in Sussex, and in Brynau Woods, close to our head office in Wales.

Charity & Community

Charity and community means a huge amount to us at CMC. We support selected charities including Mind, RNIB, Samaritans, and we are a friend of the Community Foundation Wales. But it is the exceptional charitable endeavours of our people that truly bring our commitment to life. Our people’s charitable efforts are outstanding – from a year of Triathlons for Mayflower Community Academy to 5k Muddy Runs for Cancer Research. Throughout the year, many of our dedicated individuals volunteer their time and energy, from Age UK, Norton Parish and Morvargh Sailing Project to Peterborough Cathedral. We take immense pride in our collective contributions, knowing that together, we are making a meaningful difference.

Armed Forces Covenant

The Armed Forces Covenant is a promise from the nation to those who serve, or have served, and their families, to treat them fairly and prevent any disadvantage they may face. We actively support this commitment by employing veterans and service spouses/partners, giving them opportunities for a fulfilling civilian career and ensuring they receive the recognition and support they deserve.

Living Wage Employer

As a Living Wage Employer, CMC is proud to be accredited by The Living Wage Foundation for our commitment to paying our staff according to the cost of living.

Prompt Payment Code

CMC has always been committed to a 30-day standard payment term. To support this best practice, we have signed up to the Prompt Payment Code – a voluntary code of practice that promotes healthy business relationships by encouraging timely supplier payment.
