We’re delighted to share that CMC has been named a Project Excellence Finalist in the BCS UK IT Industry Awards 2025 – for Digital Transformation Project of the Year!

This is one of the most hotly contested awards with a significant number of entries submitted – and we’re really proud to have made it into the final 10.

Our shortlisted project, delivered in partnership with the Government Digital Service (GDS), tackled a critical challenge – helping parish councils (PCs) across England adopt GOV.UK domains to improve digital practices and strengthen cyber security at the very heart of local government.

Persuading autonomous, financially independent and geographically dispersed PCs to divert stretched budgets to move to a GOV.UK domain, without a legal mandate, was no small task.

To achieve this, we developed tailored supporting services that enabled PCs to make significant digital changes and adopt best practices. Just as importantly, we built lasting relationships with representative bodies and ensured these continued with GDS, creating the foundation for long-term digital change.

This project exemplifies the power of collaborative working in digital delivery to make a real, sustained difference – and demonstrates the strength of combining the public and private sectors to deliver tangible, beneficial outcomes for the UK. Together, we delivered – and continue to deliver – meaningful digital change that will benefit local government and the communities they serve for years to come.”

Being recognised as a finalist is testament to the impact of this project and the dedication of our CMC team, our GDS partners, stakeholders including the National Association of Local Councils and the Society of Local Council Clerks, and the many councils who embraced change for the benefit of their communities.
