The brief

CMC supported the Welsh Government to deliver the multi-award-winning xchangewales programme. A ground-breaking initiative, xchangewales facilitated the transition from paper to electronic procurement processes across the Welsh public sector, through a portfolio of services, procurement process and organisation redesign, capability improvement and wider access to collaborative opportunities.

Supporting programme delivery

We provided expertise on programme definition and initiation, as well as a wide range of advisory and delivery support services across programme definition and governance, programme and project management, business change, project management, programme reporting, PMO, benefits realisation, communications and technical assurance.

Exceeding target benefits

We successfully completed three Gateway Reviews and one independent external review. Over 200 organisations adopted one or more of the portfolio of services. Targeted with achieving over £70million of benefits across the Welsh public sector over its five year lifespan, xchangewales actually achieved £84million of benefits and facilitated an estimated saving of 28million A4 sheets of paper, along with nearly 200 tonnes of CO2 across the public sector in Wales.
